Lanarkshire

Lanarkshire Greens are standing a number of candidates in May.

Kirsten Robb (left) will be the candidate for East Kilbride Central North. Kirsten continues to campaign for more social housing for East Kilbride and Pressured Area Status to keep the rented homes we do have. She founded the EK Development Trust and has worked with others to achieve Fairtrade status for the town.

Erica Young is standing in Avondale and Stonehouse. Erica is campaigning for more facilities for young people in Strathaven and supports the Dovesdale Action Group against waste incineration near Stonehouse.

Janice Sharkey is the candidate in Cambuslang West. Janice is lobbying for better standards in new housing developments in Cambuslang, including energy efficiency, allotments and more jobs and apprenticeships for local people. She founded the Friends of Hawthorn, got funding and brought people together to plant a new hedgerow in a local park.

You can read more about all of the candidates on the Lanarkshire Greens website, where you can also read their local manifesto. Lanarkshire Greens are also available on Facebook and Twitter, and you can email them lanarkshire@scottishgreens.org.uk
